Rinspeed combines Cars, Trains and the Web in a New Mobility Concept - “UC?”

But how does the public feel about it?


An independent poll amongst the public has been conducted at the Geneva Motor Show 2010. The main focus was
the various means of mobility and transportation and their respective emotional values and the uses. Furthermore,
the chances to market of the electro-mobility was a subject of interest. This survey has led to the following answers:


Abstract of the results
 
1'130 persons have been questioned.
The average age is 41.
The largest questioned age group is between 18 to 25 years old.
   
86% of all respondents find the UC? concept visionary or interesting.
Only 3% of all respondents find the UC? concept not interesting.
   
86% of all respondents find the UC? concept as very to medium realistic.
Only 1% of all respondents find the UC? concept not realistic at all.
   
90% of all respondents find that the individual and the public transportation should be interlinked.
Only 10% of all respondents find that the individual and the public transportation should not be interlinked.
   
74% of all respondents attribute a great to medium importance to the public transportation.
7% of all respondents attribute no importance at all to the public transportation.
92% of all respondents attribute a great to medium importance to the individual transportation.
2% of all respondents attribute no importance to the individual transportation at all.
61% of all respondents attribute a great to medium  importance to Carsharing/Mobility.
21% of all respondents attribute no importance to Carsharing/Mobility at all.
   
21% of all respondents use public transportation every day.
41% of all respondents use public transportation less than 1 to 3 times per month.
68% of all respondents use individual transportation (car) daily.
Only 6% of all respondents use individual transportation (car) less than 1 to 3 times per month.
81% of all respondents use Carsharing/Mobility less than 1 to 3 times per month.
Only 5% of all respondents use Carsharing/Mobility daily.
   
80% of all respondents attribute small to medium emotional values to public transportation.
92% of all respondents attribute high to medium emotional values to individual transportation.
85% of all respondents attribute small to medium emotional values to Carsharing/Mobility.
33% of all respondents wishes more parking at major train stations.
27% of all respondents wishes better services to the train stations.
   
50% of all respondents target the business travelers as the main users of the UC? concept.
58% of all respondents would use or maybe use the UC? concept.
52% of all respondents consider the price as the main element while using the UC? concept.
   
88% of all respondents rate the chances of the electro-mobility as high and medium.
55% of all respondents see a market share of the electro-mobility of more than 10% by 2020.
31% of all respondents see a market share of the electro-mobility of more than 15% by 2020.
